A strong team of experts in EU funding and international consortia

During the spring and summer, Malin Tverin, Simona Dell’Angelo-Scacchi, Akseli Makkonen, and Suneeta Narumanchi, have joined Grants’ EU Funding Team, led by Juho Vuononvirta.
Malin Tverin
Malin brings nearly six years of experience in preparing EU funding applications and coordinating large international consortium projects. With a PhD in Physiology and Neuroscience, she specialises particularly in the Health and Health Technologies sectors. Malin has experience supporting European consortia with more than 50 partners, as well as in project budgeting and reporting.

Simona Dell’Angelo-Scacchi
Simona specialises in digital health and health technologies. She has five years of experience with Horizon Europe and EIC funding, supporting companies and consortia across Europe. Her previous experience as a nurse in Switzerland and the UK, combined with a Master’s degree in Health Care, brings a strong practical perspective to her funding expertise.

Akseli Makkonen
Akseli has several years of experience with both Finnish and EU public funding instruments. With a background in economics, he also has strong expertise in project cash flow calculations and has worked extensively on R&D, investment, and internationalisation projects for companies ranging from growth companies to publicly listed corporations.

Suneeta Narumanchi
Suneeta specialises in EU funding, particularly in the life sciences sector. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Helsinki and has 16 years of experience in scientific research and grant writing in Finland. Her strong scientific background brings in-depth understanding of research-driven projects and how to develop them into competitive funding proposals.

Jukka Jokinen
Jukka Jokinen, Head of Investor & Partner Advisory, has extensive experience in financing growth companies, both as an investor and an advisor. He has worked for more than a decade in venture capital and corporate venturing, as well as with strategic investors and international growth financing projects. His network extends beyond the traditional venture capital landscape, with particularly strong connections to strategic investors.

Niku has several years of experience in growth company financing, both from an investor’s and an advisor’s perspective. He has been involved in executing funding rounds for technology-driven growth companies with institutional investors. With a Master’s degree in Finance, Niku’s particular strength lies in combining corporate finance expertise with the ability to identify a company’s potential and translate it into a compelling investment case.

Antti Rantanen
Antti brings experience in equity financing, debt financing, and public funding. He has worked on EIC Accelerator and Innovation Fund projects, as well as business plans, cash flow forecasts, and financial modelling.
